Stockholm III

Day II
An overcast day. We booked a tour on one of the sightseeing boats to learn a bit more about the city.

In the afternoon we left Stockholm for Helsinki on board of Silija Line's "Symphony".

A little welcome drink at "New York" Lounge.

Oh that glorious sunset.

Stockholm I

Day I

We arrived at Stockholm in the late afternoon and went directly to our hotel at Östermalm, where we checked in and had a quick dinner. Right afteron we jumped back in our little rental car and drove down to Gambla stan, the old town of Stockholm. And boy, was it beautiful there. Cute little cobblestoned streets with lovely shops and tiny restaurants, old and impressive buildings and hidden places. We had a blast wandering around there and watch those beautifully decorated window displays.

not fair

This week started with quite a shock. To hear that Ella passed away, my dear flickr friend Elizabeth's beautiful four and a half years old Golden Retriever, was like getting a punch right into the belly. How can one be prepared to lose such a young dog?
My heart breaks for Elizabeth who will never get the chance to see her girl getting older, become wise and white. It breaks because of all those stolen years. It breaks because I know how much she suffers.
It is not fair. It is so not fair !!!
I fell in love with Ella from first sight. She was the most beautiful golden girl I've ever seen and I always hoped (and still hope) that when I ever have another golden and it's going to be a girl, she will be like Ella. So bright and full of energy with such a sweet fine face and lovely character.
I take it hard, I know. She was not my dog and I haven't even met her in real life. But I loved her. I loved her from Elizabeth's beautiful photos and stories she was so kind to share with us.  And Ella is (and always will be) Cisco's laaady...don't forget about that. I just wished that romance would have had a happy end.
It is just not fair!
